I was very skeptic when Amazon has issued their “paper like” e-reader device. Beside the technology shortcomings I was sure this would be used to promote airport bestsellers and other reading material ready for the intelectual garbage bin. However‚ I have to admit that the success of the device‚ which is nice by the way‚ has attracted some serious publishers to include their books in the new format. Doing a regular amazon search today I realized that there is a growing number of Orthodox books readily available to be read on the kindle.
I know that many of you don’t have it yet‚ I for one don’t‚ but if you do or are thinking about buying one your selection is growing‚

Orthodox Books on Kindle‚
As a convert who’s been standing for a year next to the choir director and the reader while they tried to figure out a pre-feast vigil‚ etc… I see Kindles and the like as a possible answer to having to have a dozen books scattered about and confusion trying to assemble the service.
No more‚ “wait stop‚ we’re supposed to be singing in the 2nd tone” or “why am I skipping all the paragraphs with a mark next to them‚ is that a mark or just a stain?”
🙂 Agree. On a serious note however I know Fr. Seraphim Dedes from e-matins (http://sgpm.goarch.org/ematins/main.htm ) is working on a kind of computerized solution for chanting. It will come‚ I am sure and we will all go: where was this when ai needed it 20 yrs ago…:)
I know this is an old post and an old comment‚ but just for purposes of updating ̵’; the current state of Fr. Seraphim’s work on a digital distribution system for text and music‚ as of 2017‚ can be found at http://www.agesinitiatives.com/dcs/public/dcs . If you have any questions or need something you can’t find‚ please don’t hesitate to contact us at info AT agesinitiatives DOT org‚ and we’ll help however we can!
